"Mechanical Load Brake" Hoists

Mechanical load brakes are also called Weston Type Brakes and Holding Brakes. They ensure that the load does not move even if the primary electrical disc brake fails. Smaller drives and resistors can be used for mechanical load brake hoists because extra regeneration capacity does not have to be built in.

Some worm gear drives qualify as mechanical load brake hoists. Please contact us for special applications.
